Adaptive Planning Offers Microsoft Performance Management Rescue Package

Company Offers 75% Discount to Microsoft Performance Management Customers That Migrate to Its On-Demand Budgeting, Forecasting, and Reporting Solutions

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — February 2, 2009 — Adaptive Planning, the worldwide leader in on-demand financial planning and reporting solutions for companies of all sizes, today announced a rescue package for companies using Microsoft performance management products including PerformancePoint and Forecaster. The program is designed to provide an affordable alternative to customers adversely affected by Microsoft's announcement that they are discontinuing sales and development of PerformancePoint, their financial planning solution. The program features a 75 percent discount off Adaptive Planning's subscription fees for existing Microsoft customers and is available on the Intel® Business Exchange (bx.intel.com), a platform built for small and medium businesses featuring innovative software and Intel® technology.

On January 23, 2009, Microsoft announced an update to its Microsoft Business Intelligence roadmap which revealed that their planning solution, PerformancePoint Server 2007, will no longer be a standalone item on their price list after April 1, 2009, and that they will not make further investments in the solution after mid-2009. According to media reports, Microsoft will now continue to offer planning and reporting capabilities through its Microsoft Dynamics business unit, via legacy Forecaster and FRx products that were previously being phased out.

The rescue package is designed to provide Microsoft PerformancePoint and Forecaster customers an easy and affordable migration path away from discontinued and under-invested products, and to the powerful, innovative, next generation financial planning and reporting solutions offered by Adaptive Planning. With a 75 percent discount for the duration of the contract, Adaptive Planning's solution is available for as little as $150 per seat per year, which can be less than the annual cost of maintenance for existing PerformancePoint customers. In addition, because the solution is available as an on-demand application, it can be deployed rapidly, with implementations averaging just two weeks of consulting.

“We are pleased to provide a new alternative -- a lifeline -- to Microsoft customers and partners who are concerned with Microsoft's commitment to financial planning solutions,” said William A. Soward, CEO of Adaptive Planning. “Microsoft's exit from the planning space illustrates the challenges of selling costly, complex software in a down economy, and underscores that developing and selling applications to business users -- finance organizations -- requires a much different set of skills than selling technology tools to IT. We believe the advantages of our on-demand business solution will be a highly attractive alternative for Microsoft customers and partners that have been abandoned, and we look forward to welcoming them to the Adaptive Planning community going forward.”

Adaptive Planning's budgeting, forecasting, and reporting solution represents an alternative to both manual, Excel-based processes and costly, complex enterprise software. Because the solution is offered via the software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, it is extremely affordable; does not require any new hardware, software, or IT support; and averages just two weeks for implementations.
