Adaptive Planning CEO William A. Soward Scheduled To Speak At SaaScon 2007

Chief Executive to Speak On Convergence of Open Source and Software as a Service (SaaS) As Future Business Model for Enterprise Software Companies

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA—April 13, 2007—Adaptive Planning, the leading provider of collaborative business performance management (BPM) solutions, today announced that William A. Soward, Adaptive Planning president and chief executive officer, will participate in a C-level speakers panel at SaaScon 2007, April 17 in Santa Clara, California. The session, “Tapping into Open Source for SaaS,” will examine how the open source software (OSS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) models are rapidly converging to create the business model of the future for enterprise software companies.

As chief executive of Adaptive Planning, Soward offers a leading edge perspective on the convergence of the open source and SaaS models. Adaptive Planning was founded in 2003 as a SaaS provider of budgeting, forecasting and reporting solutions. In 2006, the company became the first BPM provider to embrace open source, launching a successful OSS initiative that supports and extends the company's SaaS business.

In his remarks, Soward is expected to review the business drivers for combining open source development and distribution principles with the SaaS model. He will point out the key considerations for SaaS companies interested in adopting open source principles, and describe how end users can obtain the greatest business value by working with vendors that embrace both SaaS and open source.

Also serving on the speaker panel for "Tapping into Open Source for SaaS" will be John Roberts, chairman, CEO and founder of SugarCRM; Barry Klawans, chief technical officer of JasperSoft; and Joaquin Ruiz, vice president of marketing and product management for SpikeSource. The session, to be held at 2:35 PM, will be moderated by Mikael Blaisdell, principal of Mikael Blaisdell & Associates, Inc.

During SaaScon 2007, Adaptive Planning will also be exhibiting its products from its display at Booth 1200. For more information about Adaptive Planning, including the opportunity to test drive the company's budgeting, forecasting, and reporting solutions for free, visit www.adaptiveplanning.com.
