Technology Requirements

Adaptive Planning is a breakthrough solution in large part because of our software as a service (SaaS), cloud-based delivery model. Our SaaS solution is affordable, deploys in just weeks, and does not require new hardware, software, or IT support.

A web browser is all that’s needed to use the integrated application. There is no requirement for installation of on-premise software, database software, specific operating system software, or hardware. Neither you nor your IT team need to be concerned with installing patches or upgrading software; upgrades are managed by Adaptive Planning and occur automatically.

Supported Browsers

Windows-Based Browsers

The latest version, plus two prior official releases, of the following:

  • Internet Explorer
  • Mozilla Firefox

Other Configurations

Mac

While Mac browsers are not officially supported, many of our customers run Adaptive Planning on Macs, using the following configurations:

  • Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) or 10.7 (Lion) and a PC Emulator for Mac OS, including Parallels Desktop 6, VMware Fusion 3, and Boot Camp and Windows 7 as the guest operating system
  • Firefox 4 or greater
  • Two-button mouse

We currently do not support Apple's Safari browser.

Linux

We support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 with Mozilla Firefox 4 and above.

Java

We support the latest Java update, plus all prior updates up to 18 months ago.

Adaptive Planning Connector Requirements

Adaptive Planning Connectors enable automated data import and export between Adaptive Planning and other enterprise systems, located both on-premise and in the cloud.

On-Premise Connectors

The On-premise Connectors are installed on local servers inside the customer's firewall, and require direct access to the customer's source system.

On-Premise Connector minimum PC requirements are as follows:

  • Processor: Intel (x86)
  • Memory: 1GB
  • Windows XP SP 2 or later
  • Network access to the Adaptive Planning Webservice URL
  • Local access to the ERP’s database server or Source system APIs

Hosted Connectors

The Hosted Connectors are used with cloud-based enterprise systems, such as Salesforce CRM, and have the same browser requirements as Adaptive Planning. Nothing needs to be installed on the customer's computers.
